Default Character question

Hey guys, I am just about to finish the guild wars prophecies campaign and move on to factions and I was just wondering should I keep my current character for new campaigns or is it better to start again?

Thanks.

Unless you wanna grind up another character or try a new class, I would just keep your same character. Start another one later if you want to.

I've found that if your character is of a core profession, (and in your case this is the case because they're coming from Prophecies), that there is a lot to gain by going through the other campaigns; you can capture elite skills from that other campaign, you can get weapon models that are only found in that campaign, and you can get new sets of armor.

As far as I am concerned, when building a new character, I just go with whatever campaign I feel like at the time...

I would suggest both, first start a new char in Factions then once its completed you can bring your old char over and take your new char to prophicies.

Factions gives you 2 new proffesions to play with so you should concider giving them at least a shot to see if they are fun to play.

If you don't like them then its a simple matter to delete and switch to your old char.

Remeber your givin multiple char slots for a reason, don't be afraid to use them

Character progression is nothing like as slow as Prophesies and there are many 2000 and 3000 xp missions once you leave the start area.

20th lvl in a weekend is not hard at all to achieve.

Try the new classes out you might want to use on as a secondary to your prophesies character even if you dont like them as prime class.

I'd recommend starting a new character in Factions to begin with. It'll give you some extra insights into the storyline that a foreign character would miss out on (foreign characters enter the campaign at a later stage and don't get to experience the full extent of the story up until the part where they transfer in). After that, you can bring your Prophecies character in to take advantage of the Factions content.

Ever try running to the Monastery? My monk, who's from Prophecies, is Protector of Cantha meaning she did Minister Cho's Estate and Zen Daijun on the island...

That is possible, although a Prophecies or Nightfall character wouldn't be able to do the quests that cover the parts of story outside the missions that take place on the island. That's what I mean by experiencing the full extent of the storyline.
